Recently, I was dealing with some SEO stuff. My job was to optimize a webpage and make it more visible on google.
In the process of finding tools I stepped on the Google Webmaster Tools.

I found here some intresting information about my webpage. After successfull verifification Google Webmaster Tools provided me with excelent tips on how to make my website more efficient.

What I liked at most was that it pointed me what scripts/css files are not cacheable. Another tip was that I could concatenate and gzip all the javascript/css I had and it told me how much transfer I will save. These are normal things you do when optimizing your website, but having this information from one tool is really nice.

Another intresting option in Google Webmaster Tools was configuration how often google bot should visit my website. I must say it was a little bit doubtful for me at first. I read in another article on the net that google bot use it only as a suggestion and doesn't really need to use it.
In my case it worked like a charm. Some time after changing google bot priority I received an email saying that change was applied. I looked at the logs and bot visiting speed changed from 10[s]/page to 5[s]/page just as I wanted it to be :)

I think Google Webmaster Tools is worth to use with every project.
